Ekstrom Library Electricity

Your assignment is to visit the Ekstrom Library at the University of Louisville and to thoroughly explore their electricity/electric circuits book collection.

Take a photo of yourself outside the Ekstrom library (photo #1).

Next, go find the section of books on electricity and electric circuits.  Get back in among the stacks of books, where you are surrounded by electricity/circuits books, and take a picture of yourself there (photo #2).  Make sure shelves full of electricity/circuits books are visible in the picture.

Now browse the electricity/circuits books.  Find six books that appeal to you.  Pull them out and take them to a table.  Take a photo of yourself with these six books in front of you (photo #3), making sure the books are clearly visible in the photo.  For each book write a long paragraph (200 words minimum for each paragraph) about why you selected that book and what about the book appealed to you.  Make sure the title of the book is at the top of the paragraph.  You will end up with six paragraphs (one for each book), totaling at least 1200 words.

Write a paragraph (200 words minimum) about what you learned at the UofL Library.

What to turn in (hardcopies only):

·         A copy of your completed Part 1 and Part 2 forms for the day of class participation that you are making up

·         Your three photos (make sure you label each one)

·         Your six book paragraphs (all paragraphs typed)

·         Your “what you learned” paragraph (typed).

Students who complete this project can replace a day of missed Participation Grades for both Part 1 & Part 2 grades.

Students who do this project for extra credit can replace the Part 1 & Part 2 grades of any day of their choosing with 100% A+ grades.  They must tell me which day they want the extra credit applied toward.  Note that this is not much extra credit.
