Go back to the AMPLITUDE demo.  Note how the two waves are in phase – meaning they rise and fall in lock step.  Now click on FORWARD below and note how these two waves, while otherwise identical to those in the AMPLITUDE demo, are 180o (or p) out of phase – one is going up while the other is going down.  Try different phase angle values and see what you get.
