What you need to know and understand: Force per unit area – Pressure, Stress. Common sense, dynamic equilibrium, & the Equation of Continuity. Energy Density and Bernoulli’s Principle. Pascal’s & Archimedes’ principles and why things sink or float in a fluid. Elastic solids – elastic modulus. Taking solids beyond their elastic limits – yielding and breaking.
